can any1 tell me the equivelant 8 hp mercury 4 stroke compared to the yamaha 8hp 4 stroke high thrust. I was thinking the new pro kicker but have only operated the new yamaha. :shrug:
I'm not sure what characteristics of the Yami you are considering, but HERE's the fact sheet (http://www.mercurymarine.com/8_fourstroke) for the Merc 8 HP 4 stroke.
tks pete i should have specified that I wanted to have better backtrolling capabilities. i have 2 stgroke 8hp merc which works well but I got to drive my buddies 8hp 4 stroke yami other day and loved the power thrust although I dont know if the bigger prop is the difference?
