Visiting relative's in Hermiston this last weekend, I had a chance to go out with the father-in-law fishing for walleye and Smallie's. The walleye fishing was SLOW, as in NONE. However, we did fair rather well on the Smallie end. Caught about a dozen each on Saturday including this 3 1/2 lb slab.

Caught most of them on crankbaits (carp color). But caught this one on a black backed rattle trap.

Nice Smallie! :applause:
I went out last weekend and caught two big ones in hood river. I think these fish are starting to get into prespawn mode. Thanks for the advice!

Welcome RIPtheLIP!
NICE FISH! Way to go.
Below McNary I take it? Or were you up at Hatrock?
We went up to Rufus and the walleye bite was dead there too.
Great day though.

Story! Story! :yay: :yay:
Lets hear a story & introduction. It's customary for new members to introduce yourself.

Spent 3-4yrs over there myself. Caught my first Largemouth out of Hatrock. I thought I'd hooked a mutated smalley or something!
Left w/ a wife too.

Where you at, let grab a cold one sometime.

Well Tracker. I live in Boise, Idaho. Grew up here as well. Army for 8 years. Been back now for nearly 10 years. Was a Bassmaster with my dad growing up. But now I mainly fly fish.

Been going over to The O (Owhyee River) alot this spring and catching Browns.

Dad and I are heading up to Brownlee in two week to fish for the crappie slabs and maybe a few smallies. Thanks for the welcome.

Ah.. Boise. I grew up over in Enterprise, OR ... across the border. Good to have another IDAHOIAN on the boards.
Hope to see ya over on the hunt'n board as well.

Went over your way year before last after those browns they talk about out of Ketchem. Didn't find them, but enjoyed the drive up around the Sawtooths. Purty country, much like the Wallowa's. Felt right at home. Wouldn't mind retiring to the Moses Lake area, well maybe not that exact town, more like Donnelly. Close to home and the Snake, but w/o these liberal do gooders. Hope I didn't ruffle any feathers.

Glad to have you aboard. I fished the big O by Rome last year. Caught no Browns but plenty of smallies.
