View Full Version : Removing an American Turbine Impeller
Are special tools required to remove an American Turbine impeller? Are the aluminum impellers weldable?

No special tools required. Just unbolt the bowl and remove the the nut that holds the impellar to the shaft. The Impellar should slide right off. Make sure you keep track of how many shims went where when you take it apart. Also check the wear ring for damage and excessive wear....
If you messed up the impellar you will most likley have to get a new one. I know they can weld up the stainless ones but Im not sure about Aluminum. I can ask some My boat building/racing buddy for you. Heck he may even have an one laying around.
Thanks. Let me know what you find out.

He has 2 stainless ones laying around. What "cut" do you need? AA, A, B or C? What power plant is in front of the pump. And how many rpms do you turn at wide open throttle with the olde impellar? Lots of question eh?
I will also check with some other people in the jetboat racing scene to see what they have.......
