View Full Version : sunday fishing hood river

I went to the hood river marina on sunday. Tried for some reaction bites on crankbaits. No hits. I tied on a crappie jig (red lead head, chartreuse body) and jigged under the docks. About two minutes in i hooked up on a 19" smallie. 5 minutes later i caught another 16" smallie. These fish are going crazy in prespawn. I got several more bites that i could see were from bigger fish ( i was only jigging about 3 feet down) but i didn't get a hook set. I'll try to head down there again sometime again this week or next week.
If any body else has done any fishing in the hood river area lately let me know.

Probably my favorite fishing trip was when i went up to juneau and stayed with a friend of my dads. We caught 15 pound cohos and 100+ pund halibut. The fish never stopped biting. My dads friend is now in the process of purchasing a fishing lodge at the northern tip of prince of wales island. he doesn't have a website for it yet but heres a website of another lodge in the same bay.
