I followed the instructions on entering my DSC ID number into my icom 402s and it didn't seem to take. Anyone else have trouble with the instructions? I'm sure it will work. Something about the instructions seemed odd when it got to the last digit.
Guess I'll have to contact them. I hate that part.

I haven't got as far as you on my Icom 402 install
The MMSI Code Programming is not available when the MMSI Code has been programmed by the dealer. This code programming can be performed only 2 times :help:
Maybe it's already set?
What does your MMSI Code Check indicate? Push [DSC] to select the DSC menu. Push ^/v to select "MMSI" and push [DSC]. Check the 9-digit MMSI (DSC self ID) Code. Push [DSC] to exit the condition.
 Can you accept the MMSI code assigned to the radio?
Don't know but :nerd: found Icom web site has phone numbers and email address as close as Portland
Keep us posted, Good luck

Yeah, I tried that. It doesn't have a code in it yet.
I'll get it straightened out with them and post back.

Gundog,
I went through this web site to register our ICOM radio. http://www.boatus.com/mmsi/
After going through the forms on the internet, they issued me a number to program into the radio. MMSI even sent an e-mail confirmation of the number.
I know you only have two chances to enter the registration number....... I haven't tried yet. Guess I'll do it during their office hours. If I have problems I can call for assistance.
