Well I decided to head down to my local little bass pond on wedensday after work for a pretty routine fishing trip. I was going to meet my fishing buddy down there but when I showed up him and his girlfriend were getting in to there car, the look on her face told me I was going to be fishing alone. Well I headed down to the water and threw a brushog around for about an hour before picking up my first bass of the evening, a fiesty 9 or 10 incher. Fished another half hour before I broke off. Tied on a Hula grub and walked around the back side of the lake. On the third or fourth cast there I hooked another little fish. There was about 45 minutes of light left and I was about 100 yards from my "honey hole" so I started fishing my way to it. When I came near the hole I hooked two more fish. Then on the end of one of my cast while I was retriving my grub a large fish swam torwards my bait through the grass six feet in front of me. I stoped my retreive. I waited for the bite and nothing. I lifted my rod tip and got the "tink tink" I was looking for. "Tink tink again and I set the hook the fight was on. I new the fish was a good one but didn't know it was my biggest ever until I got him landed. I just had my walk in fanny pack with no scale, no camera and no wittness. I did have my little tape measure though. The fish went 23 inches on the dot and was real real fat. I don't like to guess at the weight so I won't but it dwafed the 4.6 pounder I got three weeks ago. I realesed her quickly and and ended up with six bass on the night. Needless to say I've told everyone I know and got back a lot of "yeah rights" and "wears the pictures". The camera and scale are now on the evening check list. Anyway, I'm headed to selmac lake for the weekend and maybe that new state record. I'll let you folks know how I do.

I'd landed a nice size largemouth over Vernonia lake over the weekend but the size doesn't compare to your as you mention it. Where about the Lake you fish at? i like to come out there land some big one.

No girth measurement but it was real fat. The fish almost looked short because it was so big around. It was a big fish but I honestly have no Idea what it weighed. The pond I was fishing is an old morse bros. pond near Lebanon.
