I would say $6950 is in the ballpark.

How many hours on the motors? Salt water use? If so, how much? What shape is the bottom of the hull in? What is the hull configuration? Lifting and/or turning strakes? Dead-rise? Any optional equipment with boat or trailer?

Not real sure on the hours, but the comp test showed 115+-3 in all six cylinders (not sure what the range should be). No salt use and the hull is clear of damage that I could see.

What's amazing about older sleds is how they hold their value for many years. For instance, a 1986 sled selling for $6k now likely sold for $6k back in 1998.
Personaly, I wouldn't pay more then $5k for this package and that depends on the condition of each item. I would definetly remove the flooring and check the inside welds that connect the bottom with the sides. Check side welds where the bow flattens out and all along the bottom and sides of the transom. Your looking for breaks and cracks and signs of repair. Aluminum isn't alwasy easy to repair and hold up in severe stress areas and older Alumaweld boats usually need some repair and re-welding.
I'm not trying to talk you out of this or any used boat, except to caution you on completing a thourough inspection.
good luck,

I sold my 16' flat bottom for $7000 in approximately 45 minutes.
It was a 1990 with a 1990 90 hp merc, no kicker, alumaweld trailer w/ rust.
I think $5000 would be a fair price for the one you described.
Oh mine also leaked, not bad but not good. It seems that the seams will crack due to the pounding the boat(flat bottom specific) takes in the chop.

I have the same boat in an 18' with a 115 merc of the same year. Its a great motor and I have been told its one of the best that merc ever built.
I would say in the $7000.00 ball park if it is VERY clean and equiped. I paid a little less than that for mine without a kicker, but I did get a full anchor system, seats, fisherman top, trailer, and fish finder. Mine is very clean.
Good luck, they are great boats/motors.

Thats interesting about that particular motor being 1 of the best Merc ever built.
I also have 1.Had to have it rebuilt because*%$@*& ex son in law ran it out of water and fried the water pump. Then put it in the water and seized the motor.
The mechanic that rebuilt it used to race those motors.Sai the same thing about them being the best Merc motor ever. And I doubt it was the same place you heard it from.

i bought an old 1977 Alumaweld 16 ft sled and Home made trailer that is built to withstand a direct hit from a Hydrogen Bomb.
Got it at stevens for $2495. Have had so many awesome duck hhunts in it...
It rattles because the diamond -plate is free in the bottom of the boat, but it has had the inside corners @ the frame tubing re-tacked.
It is water tight, and I really like it .
It had an old 1981 80 hp Merc jet, but they took it off before i got it.
I put a new 2004 merc 40 hp jet, and the thing just cooks along, had my gps check the speed at 33 mph with just me in it, but with me, 2 buddies, and 2 labs, and 2-3 bags of dekes and guns etc, it takes a moment to get on plane, but if i have my buddies lean forward for a moment at the beginning of the run, we get on plane much easier, once on plane, i can ease back on the throttle and scoot right along.
