Got the pleasure of fishing with bassin'87 and his brother on Sunday. Great guys, great fisherman! After getting skunked the day before on Sunset AND Coffenberry, I didn't know where to take them! After some encouragement from a friend, I decided to head back to the coast, this time to my old friend; Cullaby. Things started out good with Bryan and Casey hooking up with doubles! 4 and 3 pounds on the hump! (I broke one off- arrggghhhhhh!!!) WE caught a ton of nice fish and then I made a lucky cast and caught a gorgeous 7-2!!! super fat, pot-bellied, beautiful!! Later, we went across the street to Sunset and fished for hours before again, I made a lucky cast and watched this toad dart out of this tree and bite me. Beautiful, fat, 8-1!!!!! After a really slow spring, catching these fish, plus some other 5 to 6 1/2 pound largemouths earlier in the week, plus a 6-5 smallmouth from Hagg, I am ready to accept the fact that I will not be able to fish for the next week (vacation). Thanks to Casey (bassin'87) and Bryan for making the day speacial!!! Dave (PS: I have good pictures of all and will get them up when I get back in town- good luck to all)

Thanks, Tristan, Dennis! Tristan I have used a jig on reaction bite fish (ambush fish) for years and have recently switched to a tube. Fish in this mode will literally eat anything, any color, it's just that the tube has proved to be easier to slide through cover, fall slow, and hook-up well. I guess the only color you might avoid is any that resembles a western newt.
