A buddy of mine REALLY wants to fish Diamond and from what I've heard I REALLY don't. He swears up and down even though they are getting ready to poison it that people have been catching HUGE trout out of there still. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

From what I,ve read, Diamond lake has already been recently poisoned and has been recovering for the last couple years. They wanted to rid the lake of the huge tui chub population and apparently accoumplished that. I know it's a long way to travel though. Check with the ODFW office in Bend, they can tell you the whole story.

Diamond Lake has NOT been treated yet. They are planning on doing so this coming fall.

There is real good fishing opportunity as they have been planting Eagle Lake and Wood River trout in an attempt to control the Tui Chub population. They have also planted it with larger than usual hatchery rainbow in an attempt to lure more anglers.

I think there is lots of good opportunity to catch quality fish in one of the nicest settings in the state.
