Heck yeah man! panfish are a blast especially for someone new to fishing. My son got 3 on freeway lakes saturday. He caught the first biggest one bass fishing a small robo worm near the shore the other two were caught in deeper water on a crappie jig. If you don't mind sharing what pond were you fishing in corvallis?

I dont really know the name of it but coming out of corvallis and going over the bridge that comes over the willamete and heading towards lebanon I think it's highway 34? but probably like a half mile to a mile on the right theres a pretty big pond went there yesterday and caught about a 2 lb bass was only there for about 30 minutes lol

There are some nice bass in that pond, I was bored last summer and walked around it throwing senkos and did ok, but threre were some guys in a conoe that did pretty good, you can rent canoe for cheap (12 bucks) from the rec center since your a student (i am too) and you could really get around the lake and toss lures towards shore and do pretty good for the bass.
