Found out today that I am having a little problem with melanoma. Last week, I had a few moles removed and they also did a biopsy on a spot on my face. The doctor called today and let me know that the spot on my face came back as "Melanoma in Situ". Now this is a grade 0, and is usually cured by surgical removal. It is still a bit scary when they tell you that you have a form of cancer.
It will just be a minor surgery, but I could sure use a prayer or two to help me stay strong through this. I need to be strong for my wife as she is having a difficult time herself. Her mother is very ill with emphysema and is not expected to live much longer. The loss of her mother will be very hard for her and I will need to be there for her as she was for me when I lost my both my mother and father.
If you could say a prayer for my wife's mother as well as ask our Lord to give Gini and I the strength to get through these challenges, it would be greatly appreciated.

Will pray here.
My father had the same thing a few years back and scared us also. We talked with a couple doc's and they said removing them should fix it and it did 100%.
It is still a scarey word. Hope this helps ease the worries a little.
will remember your Mom-inlaw also and both of you for that.

BRShooter, You and your family will be in our prayers. I have just passed the 5 year mark from having kidney cancer and one kidney removed. They say after 5 years your cured, but I can say I'm still here enjoying life and you will too. Best of luck with your surgery.

Thanks everyone. It is truly appreciated.
I am really having a hard time. The bad news won't stop.
My wife's mother is in the last stages of her life due to emphysema. Then I am diagnosed with a stage 0 "Melanoma in Situ". Now today, we get the latest. My wife is diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma and a basal cell carcinoma.
It just seems like so much is being thrown at us at one time.
I would appreciate it if you would say a prayer for my wife. She has been through so much in her life already.
Thank you all.

Just want to thank everyone again for the prayers and well wishes.
Gini is doing well after her wide area excision and all of the tissue samples came back free of melanoma so it appears they got it all on the first procedure. They are going to do Mohs surgery on her head to remove the basal cell carcinoma the end of May. She is on a cancelation list in case anything opens up.
My surgery is set for Friday morning. My melanoma is in my right sideburn area. They are going to have to take a patch of tissue about 1-3/4" in diameter from in front of my right ear. They will then take a patch of skin from behind the ear and use that for a graft. Not real excited about it, but it must be done.
The Lord is helping us to get through these stressful times. I sure wouldn't want to face it without Him.

I just wanted to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone for his or her thoughts and prayers. Gini and I have both had our surgeries for melanoma. We are so thankful that the pathology for all surrounding tissue came back cancer free for both of us. One more surgery for Gini coming up at the end of the month for her basal cell carcinoma and we should be good to go.
Thanks to our Lord and thanks to everyone here. God Bless
Thats good news. God is good.
