Went out for the morning fish! Got my exercise.

Don't let these southwest winds fool you - nice in the Sandy River gorge. I had a beautiful walk in. Spring wildflowers are coming out.

Oregon's state flower - Oregon Grape

Sure sign it is Spring - Trillium

Springers must be on the way - salmonberry

Even the Pacific Bleeding Heart are starting to show

Has it been dry this winter or what?

As you probably gathered - got spanked, skunked, nada, nothing, zilch ..... in 2 hours of actual fishing. Mainly threw purple, tried some orange, finished dragging something pink. Dead drifting namely. River bumped up a few inches (at 8.5 feet) - still clear - actually, looked awesome with this overcast, grey sky. A sprinkle and occassional upriver breeze. (Didn't take a water temperature). Boat traffic light (saw 3), bank traffic even lighter. Did not see nor hear of any lines tightening up.

Enjoy .

Thanks for the report. I was wondering if the water had gotten some color from the weekend rain.

Thanks for the report. I would have thought you would have gotten blown off the river.

Nice photos and the worst day fishing is better than the best day working.

And to think, I intentionally stayed away from the Sandy today as I thought the winds would have been insane. Oh well, I did tie a whole heap of flies...

Ah, yes:
Mahonia aquifolium, Trilium ovatum, Rubus spectabilis, and Dicentra formosa.

Nice pics!

Great report and pictures--few of the many great reasons to live and fish in these parts.

Thanks Navigator.
