Went to the middle fork today, and in true chowder-head fashion i decided to go with just shorts and wading socks, leaving the waders at home. Of course, the fish decided to eat on the other bank, so i waded chest deep to a nice looking boulder and served them a few flys. Boy was it worth it! I fished the rest of the stretch sopping wet until the rise died, then decided to change into dry clothes and call it an early day. I'm still shaking a bit as i write this. I think i have a problem when it comes to trout.

Tomorow i'm going to try the lower Mckenzie. Anyone else planning on making a drift down there? I'll be all by my lonesome on a pontoon and was wondering if anyone wanted to trade some flies and/or gas money for a lift to my rig at the end of the day. I'm sure there are more than a few ways to work this out, but if anyone's interested drop me a line.

Edit :
Didn't know i would get potty mouthed for saying ni...an area on the chest. Hope people didn't get the wrong idea and think i was being vulgar

Also, i did remember the waders this time and had another great day.

nice...last time I was on the middle fork I had to dive for a dropped rod, but that was in August!

Good luck tomorrow.

Thanks for the edit. I, too, did not know you couldn't use ni.... when discribing your situation in context. Seems reasonable, but also leaves out the exact expression we would all feel when doing the same thing. With that said, I'm not sure I'f I could've hung in for that long. Glad it was fun.
