I'm considering buying a 20'foot NR Scout open sled. I was wondering if anyone on the board here ownes one and would be willing to give me their feedback on how they like it. Thanks in advance for your help.

Mines 22 feet w/ a 102 inch beam / 78 inch bottom.... love it.. .only thing i'd have done differently is have the higher transom on it. I'd recomend getting the widest bottom you can - which would be 78 inch for that length of boat. And I dont believe the higher transom is an option until you get to 21 feet as well.

Send Dogwood a pm. He has a 19' and has some good views after a couple of years under his belt. I will see him next week to remind him.

I was gonna get the 20' but I decided to go to the 21' because of the width and belive me it's worth it.I would take a look at both of them side to side and compare how much more room the 21' has. It's the best boat I've ever had. Now I want the 22 because of the 106" beam and the 84" floor...

I own a 19 foot scout and love it. If I had to do it over though, I would do some things a little different. First I would probably go with the 20'. Be sure to get a washdown pump - you won't regret it. I also like the transom design with the three doors and the built in had washer.

The scout is a great boat and very well built. Check at the boat shows for prices. You can usually get a boat show deal even after the boat shows are over.

Hope this helps - CW

I've had my 22 for just about a year now. Superb boat...lots of room...but with the 108" beam you best be paying attention while towing it. Narrow lanes are stressful.

Unless you go in shallow water...I'd recommend sticking with a prop. I'm finding the 200 V/Max with a pump is gobbling lots of fuel. I'm going back to the prop very very soon.

After running a different North River the last four years I made the switch to a 21' scout. Absolutly love it  It has a ton of options to make a day on the water just a little more enjoyable. The down and dirty is that its a "pure" fishing machine and designed to do just that.

Power comes from an 2005 Yamaha 150hp prop and a T8 troller.

One of the best things about this set up is the factory North River aluminum duel axle trailer. It tows like a dream.
