View Full Version : What to do in celebration?

So my finals end early Wednesday morning  and I haven't decided where to celebrate yet. All I have decided is that i'm going to do as much serious trout bumming as i can before the girlfriend gets suspicious.

The original plan was to spend a couple days going between the Mckenzie and Willamette from my toon. I also had a friend suggest hosmer and I read that it's usually good from ice off, which i assume is by now. I've also been told it's probably too early there no matter what and i'm not sure if camping is allowed yet. Of course, i'm sure there's a million other places to consider too.

So, any advice on what to do? I'd think with this weather there's got to be something good right now. I'm looking for decent trout fishing somewhere within a few hours or so from Corvallis. Being able to keep a fish or two is a plus, that way i can eat something other than potatoes and beans. And if anybody has a good (or bad) idea on where to go and wants to meet me there, i'll bring the beer . However you want to reply, PMs, posts, and smoke signals are all welcome.

Thanks in advance

I wish i could, but I'm assuming Mickey Finns is a bar, so sadly, i wont be able to grace it with my presence till may 20th :hoboy:.

If this raises any eyebrows on the "I'll bring the beer" comment in my post, what can I say, i'm a college kid. But it will certainly be with me on my trout bum trip.

I sure hope there are no boys in blue reading this

In that case it might have to be included in my itinerary. Someone better stay between me and the beer at all times though.... Just kidding, I'll be on my best behavior . It would be nice to get to know all the fine fly fishers on here.

Is Mickey Finn's in Portland? If so/not, whereabouts?

I'd like to go, but it's the opposite way of where i'm heading thursday morning. Guess i'll have to wait till the next time around.

At least next time i'll be of age.
