I have a Kodiak 350 with a Holly 4 bbl carb that was rebuilt last year. Just before you get into the 4 bbl it starts to fall on its face until you hit it harder then it kicks in and all is well. I am sure there is just an adjustment somewhere to help.

Ideas?

Power valve, aka accelerator pump? Does it have mechanical or vacuum secondaries?

Power valve is good check. See what vacume pressure you have at idle and pick a power valve 2 lbs less . Make shure your excellerator pumps are working . Does it have vacume or mechanical 2ndaries ? Besides checking float levels , choke adjustments , what meter plates you have etc. But before you ever touch a carb , check your timing and advance .

Thanks for the ideas, but I really am not a wrench guy when it comes to carbs.

Like I said it was rebuilt last year and runs great except if I ease into the 4 bbl. If I hit it hard everything is just fine. There is no black smoke, no excessive fuel usage, idle is just right.

Maybe somebody would like to go springer fishing with tools?
