I need to buy a battery for my electric trolling motor and was wondering what the best deep cycle battery in the mid price range would be. Any advice? I will be running a 44 lb thrust minn kota on a small one man duck boat for fishing ponds.
Thanks.

Trojan Batts are one of the best. You can get them at Gi Joes.

I've got two of the Trojans, so far so good.
I think Joes has them on sale now, if I recall their Sunday supplement in the Oregonian.
The battery's only half the equation, you need a proper charger/maintainer too.

like my optima blues
I'm getting good service from Kirkland batteries at about $45.00 a pop for 27 series, at least that's what they cost when I bought them in '02. 'Course I'm not a die-hard troll for hours and hours have hundreds of dollars to spend on batteries kind of bass fishin' guy either.

Rick at RV Pro in Vancouver recommended the following batteries:

Looking at the specs - pretty impressive. A bit more expensive, but....

I use a Trojan for the RV (the huge one) and a Blue Optima for the boat.

Well I ended up getting a trojan at GI Joes on sale for 10 bucks off, and just completely charged it up. I will take it for a test drive this next week hopefully on Wednesday. Thanks for all of the input/advice!

Quack5 - Good choice based on your application.
There is a reason Trojan Batteries are the most used batteries in RV's where 50%+ discharge is common.

Trojan batts are very well made. Price varies alot though, so call around. Batt Exchange has always quoted me the best price, and if its near the end of the month, Its even lower.
