Kicker brackets can be unbolted and heisted along with your kicker! Cutouts would seem to be more secure if the kicker was locked down.

It can depend on the style of boat but I liked the cut out. I did not have a TR-1 on my last boat and with the cut out the kicker was right there in easy reach. On the other hand with a welded bracket, you get a bait box.
My current Intruder came with the kicker bracket (and hot water tank) already installed. It's nice on the hands but I'd much sooner have the kicker mounted on the transom. On the outboard bracket boats with the full transom, the small hot water box is really cool!!! Makes running the kicker easier too, IMO! :yay:

I have the cut out with hot water sink on my North River. It is nice having everything up close instead of having to reach way out there to mess with anything.
What kind of boat are you looking at?

I have a kicker bracket and am going to have it replaced with a welded solid bracket this summer. The brackets always seem to let the kicker motor bounce around and I just cringe when going over any kind of bump when towing. Forget the sink (Invest in some good gloves) and go with the cutout or with a welded solid bracket.

I dont have any input on the kicker bracket itself - however if you want another options for the sink.... put it in the gunnel. thats how I have mine set up in my Scout. Had the sink built at Ampro - did a very good job. Its out of the way and handy for trolling or anchor.
smelly jelly's just melt off the plugs this time of year when the cold water usually just smears them around.
