I'm drawing a blank..........
What's the recomended oil for a new Honda Outboard? My dealer suggested the Castro gtx 10w30 I believe or maybe the 30 weight... I can't remember. I do this every year about now. I gota write this down on the motor somewhere!
Thanks for any help...........

Owners manual for my 4 stroke 9.9 says to use a 4 stroke automotive detergent oil. SAE 10-30. Honda recommends you use the API service catagory SG, SH or SJ with the "starburst" certification mark.

On my new 225 Honda I put Chevron 10-30 in it. When I was at the dealer later I saw they had a pallet of chevron 10-30 sitting there and they told me they would have put the same oil in it.

If it were my Honda,I'd use Mobil 1 10-30. Not that a [potty mouth] oil won't work, but I'm a firm believer in synthetics. I run them in everything I own.

Here is an article that supports your thoughts. It appears as if the Mobil 1 has the greatest viscosity retention in a head to head test in a Motorcycle engine.

Hehehehehe....
There used to be an idiot on ifish with that name. He got banned and, apparently, edited off the site.
