need advice . im considering buying a 20 ft, intrudfer with a 175 sport jet . is that enough motor for this boat . any other things i should be thinking about , mainly be fishing around st, helens an the lewis. is that a good package for 2 people. thanks,

It is a great package for two people...several manufacturers have been using that motor in 20' boats...I am guessing that you will probably hit low to mid 40s mph...and burn around 8-10 gph at cruise...of you get into the throttle, you will burn 15-18 gph at WOT.
I had a 19' boat with the 175 and loved it. I moved up to a bigger boat and really miss the fun factor of the 175.
I would say if the price is right, go for it!

If you want to save some money get a 20' Rogue w/175 here's a look at a friend of mine's. I am going to order one in the next few days, just working out the details.
The boat, Yami T8, kicker cutout, quick connect and all the goodies runs about 25 g's. Check this one out...

I've got a '99 Intruder, 20' sled with the 175sj. 3 big men, 39mph @ wot. Just me and the dog, 42mph (gps'd speed). I fished Astoria 18 days last year in the fall, no problems at all! My only gripe was I couldn't get by with a "ez-steer" system for trolling, so I kicked down $$$ for the TR1. It's a nice asset too. Good resale, good boats, good company.

I have a 2000 18' Intruder with the 175SJ. Great power out of the hole and will do ~ 45mph WOT with 2 people.

Just spending some time reading through some threads and seen the picture of the Rogue boat, I think I took that picture, by god thats my boat....Yea really happy with the 20 foot Rogue Hustler and pleased with the powerhead 175 SJ so far... :dance: :yay:

Our 20' NR Sportster w/175 is a real joy. Mainly the wife and I, but have fished four with very little noticable loss-o-power.
