I'm planning on taking a trip on the McK this spring some time. I've been down it once a couple years ago. As I recall there is a lower drift that is a decent day's worth, but I can't remember where we put in and took out. Any suggestions on lauches and takeout locations?
Thanks,
CrF

Bellinger to Hayden Bridge, or Hayden to Armitage. Should be getting some march browns now or soon. Good luck.

Is Bellinger the one with the gate at the park. It seems we took out at a place where we just parked along the river at the side of the road. The launch wasn't too far out of Springfield...maybe 9 miles. I think it was a state park if I remember correctly.

You'll want to go low... the gauge at walterville says 1 foot and 1000CFM. That is mighty low... like August levels.
You should be ok from Hayden on down... should be being the operative phrase. I have actually caught more fish doing the Armitage to Willamette drift. Should be enough channel to get you through there too.
good luck and drop a report once you do the deed!
