View Full Version : A little afraid... Surgery tomorrow--

I'm a little faithless, here. :depressed:
I'm just having surgery tomorrow, and I'm having it on coumadin.
There are two risks. One, to my valve, since I am off coumadin. I could get a clot in my valve, and I am unable to take the shots that would protect me from that.
And two... Since I still have anticoagulant in me, I could bleed alot.
Both will probably NOT happen, but I am worried, nonetheless. Plus, I'm just so darned tired of surgery.
Please help me with my faith, and help me to get through this without being a sissy.

Jennie, you're definitely not a sissy. You're handling your situation much better than most of us could.
My prayers are with you for a successful surgery, and speedy recovery.

When my sister went with me to my last surgery, we prayed together before.
She said, "And God, we are so sorry that we don't have all of the faith that we should have."
I don't know why, but I had never thought of apologizing to God for our faults like that! Since then, I have confessed that often, and it feels very cleansing to me!
I miss my sis. She's in Montana. She was such a comfort to me, and brought God more into the picture for me. I don't think my sister Teri has a negative bone in her body. I am envious of her spirit and her faith.
My brother said, "Yeah, it's probably easy when everything is so easy in her life." But I thought... is it that everything is easy because of her circumstance, or because of her faith?
Is it the egg before the chicken, or the chicken before the egg?
I don't know, but I tend to think that God blesses her for her undying faith and her ceaseless relationship with Him.
I strive daily to have a relationship with Him like she does!
I remember in Bible study one day... the theme was... "Would you rather have an extremely close relationship with God, or would you rather win the lottery?"
No question, here. God wins, hands down.

Jen,
I will pray for you and the doctors
Let's look at the track record so far; made it to the hospital in time the 1st time, came through a massive surgery with that visit, went back a few weeks later and did it again, so far He seems to be holding up His side and seems to be holding the rest of us while He's at it.

Remember the Foot Steps in the Sand?
It's ok to worry, unless you're out fishing.

I will continue to pray for you and for the special touch of God’s grace on your heart. I really appreciate you sharing with us your feelings; you are the one who is the true encouragement to us.
Probably the single greatest comfort I take in my walk with the Lord is to know that God is always on His throne. When I worry, He’s there; when I’m afraid, He’s there; when I doubt, He’s there; when I think He’s distant, He’s there; when I don’t understand, He’s there; when the bad or good things happen in my life, He’s there; when my faith is so weak, He’s there. It’s a wonderful promise we have from God no matter what – He’s always there on His throne never turning from our lists of weaknesses and fears. He loves us not because of our faith, but because He is our Daddy.
I often reflex on the words of one of my favorite hymns, “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.” Know we are praying for you. I appreciate God's Spirit within you.

We as humans know many things to happen without our control, and doubt forms from this especially when we think of our true faith. When confronted with a major decision we tend to second guess ourselves and our beliefs, its only human ,we don't know of our future, Only our Blessed Father knows, so call him and ask him for guidance. God Bless you

Footsteps In The Sand
One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him, and the other to the LORD.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him
he looked back, at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of his life
there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it: "LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."
The LORD replied:
"My son, My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you, During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Pete has reported that you came through the surgery and are now on your way to recovery. We all know that this trial is not easy, but few of us truly understand how difficult it really is. I will continue to pray for your healing; but more so, that God will give you greater understanding and courage to face these difficult times with assurance that you’ll be okay in His arms.
