I have a Alumaweld Stryker sterndrive, 19'. Last Friday while running WOT in the MC, there was a ka-thunk from the back of the boat and it immediately started pulling to the left pretty hard. Hard enough I have to hold the wheel a quarter turn to the right to keep the boat straight. I have hit logs and other debrie in the channell before with no ill effect. This didn't feel like an impact, nor did I see any logs or debrie before or after the sound. In looking at the outdrive, I can't see any obvious damage, and while not super tight, it seems the steering linkage is still tight. Would the Boat Doc have any ideas what to look for before I have to take it into the shop?

Thanks

It sounds like this is a proped boat (if not, I haven't a clue)? Have you tried to adjust the trim tab? That's the little rudder looking thingy on the bottom side of the anti-ventilation plate. Loosen the bolt and turn it slightly. Make small adjustments and retest on the water.

I'd do what DB sugested. First check to see if you didn't break it off though.

Come to think of it, that little thingy is straight in line with the center line of the boat. Will have to try adjusting it. Thanks....

Judy99.....lets go fishing again.....

Move the trailing the edge of the trim tab the direction the bow goes easiest.
