COOL!!
What did you have for water temperature? I have never fished it this early in the season and am wondering if I should give it a try.
My son and I are planning on the Willamette Saturday. Smallies are our favorite. But plans change from time to time.
It's time to go bassin!

Lots of Ifishers are coming in with reports of warmwater species being caught. We have been blessed with good weather.
This time last year it was raining. There were only two days in 2003 in the month of March when it did not rain.

I found them in the willows across from Burnt Bridge outlet, Used a whitetube micro jig 12" under the bobber. They move around in the willows so get the first one and take about 4' leader with a small hook and bobber and hook it threw his dorsal fin and let it go then follow the bobber and the school

do you fish vancouver lake out of a boat? or bank it? I've always wanted to try it, but I never see anyone out there. If you use a boat, where do you launch?
Thanks for any info.

My OFB and I drove around Lk. Vanc. one day. The water color (coffee w/cream) put us off. Since, I have heard glowing reports after a DF&G electro-shock of the place, and have been kicking myself.
I would like to ask if it is always muddy, and what is the approximate depth?
We had the canoe that trip, and ended up putting it in on the beach (Lake River/River Lake?...can never remember) south of Ridgefield. We paddled up the creek toward the golf course...Rainbow Creek (?) and had a good time playing with LM in the Lillypad fields. Actually, I don't think they were true Lillypads, had a sharp point on the leaves. Roland Martin calls them "Mother Inlaw's Tongue", due to the sharp point. Hmmmmm. Maybe there's something to that.
Anyway, it was nice, no PWC's, only one powerboat, and he was stuck on a sandbar near the mouth of the creek. Always expect a sandbar, gravel bar, or boulders, at the mouth of any creek! Good place to fish, if he and his ol' lady hadn't been raising such a ruckus. C&R, Steve
