I'm thinking od adding zinc to my sled. I have 2 ?'s.
1: Do they work in fresh water as well as Salt?
2: Where do you place them on a sled?

Zinc works in both salt and fresh. Magnesium works better in fresh water but will get eaten up real quick in salt. If you go in the salt, stay with the zinc for the best compromise.
Mount them below the waterline on your transom. You can get ones that weld on or ones that bolt.
Take a look at this "post" for more info. (http://www.ifish.net/forum/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB1&Number=758398&Forum=, All_Forums,&Words=&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Main=7567 77&Search=true&where=&Name=4055&daterange=&newerva l=&newertype=&olderval=&oldertype=&bodyprev=#Post7 58398)

There are also a variety of custom anodes designed to fit on nearly every outboard, usually replacing some other part so its not "hanging off". Most marine stores carry some and can order more, or any large marine catalog has all the options. I know West Marine has pictures of all commom outboards in their catalog and details on what can be replaced with zinc (that's not an endorsement, just an observation). I have 3 on my big motor, two on my kicker and two on the tansom.
