I have a 8hp Yamaha T8 on my 19ft North River. It is mounted on a trolling motor bracket that has a hot water sink with a drain & plug. There is a 1/4" supply hose that feeds the hot water from the T8 into the sink.

Last year it quit feeding hot water into the sink. I called Matt @ North River and he said that sometimes small debris will get stuck in the hose, and to try pushing compressed air from my air hose and it may clear itself out. I shot the air from the end of the hose in the sink and it cleared itself out and started working again .

Now it has stopped working again, and after several attempts with the ole' air hose trick it's still not working

Any suggestions ???? Anybody else having this problem ? Now that the Springers are starting to show, I hate to have the boat sitting in the service department :hoboy:

If its just the hose that is clogged - why not just replace the hose?

If i'm reading your post correctly - it sounds like you blew the air from the tank end pushing whatever was clogging it back into the thermostat or wherever your water is coming out of the engine. That likely found its way back into the house... Probably would be a good idea to blow it the other direction next time to remove the debree from the equation.

I was with my buddy a couple weeks ago on his 20' NR with a 8hp Yamaha T8, same problem, and I suggested he try to clear the small hole in the 90 degree fitting that was mounted on the motor with a thin piece of solid wire. He only had to go in a half-inch or less. Refired it and water was flowing out again! This might be similar to your problem.

Be sure to turn off the motor before you do this because the flywheel gears are right there where your working.

You might need to replace the water pump impeller. The kit's cheap, and it only takes an hour or so if you do it your self. If you do not, your kicker is gonna overheat and shell out eventually. It's an annual replacement item on both my motors.
