So how did it go? Did anybody fish, or hear anything about the tournament? I heard a non-confirmed rumor that it took around 13 pounds, but does anybody know for sure.

Uhh, yeah..Tenmile graemlins/dork.gif

I'm not sure what it took to win but I think it was around 15 pounds. I had to leave right at weigh in so I'm not sure what won it but it was a really good weight for Tenmile in February. I stunk it up again. 3 nice keepers (all about 2-2.5lbs) were it for me, and 6 between 12 and 13 inches(ABA has a 13 inch min). Just couldnt stretch them out and go, it was nuts. Wouldnt have mattered anyway though.

Water temp was 51 in some places, fish were shallow, and some big fish were caught. I think I'll go take up golf

Tenmile is tough this time of year. My partner and I took 5th and big fish for the Frostbite. But didn't fair well at all in the ABA. Went looking for big fish right arm wrong spot I guess.

A 6 pounder from Tenmile in February....are you kidding me!? Its been a strange year thats for sure. February tourneys there are won with 8-9 pounds in normal years.

Word was that it was caught on the girls first cast of the morning too.

I heard there were several fish from 4 to 6 lbs range. I only had two didn't want to take up golf out of disgust. Nitro you did better than us three fish all day. Partner and I had a few come unbuutoned on drop - shot.

Hey Bassfishing the nw, What does it cost a team to enter a tournament like that. I do not know how the payout money relates to the entry fees but a quick look at the total amount of payout makes me think that the entry fee is approx $130 to $150 per boat. Just how do these figures relate in an ABA tournament?

ABA lets you buy into 'options' to increase the payout. Standard entry fee to fish the tourney is about 110 bucks. This assumes you are a member of ABA, which is about 25 bucks a year. Then you can enter 4 or 5 options at 20 dollars each. The end result is a team tournament that you and your partner spend about 210 bucks to fish(plus membership). You dont have to enter the options but you really should if you are looking for a payout.

Just to make a point..A couple of years ago I won an ABA tourney but only paid the standard 110 entry fee and entered only one of the options. I won about 700 bucks. The second place team took home 1100 bucks because they paid into the options. The year after that I won one that I paid into all of the options and ended up with about 1300 bucks. You gotta enter into them if you think you have a shot at winning.

Good luck down there

I am hoping to do well. I really hate going down there and handing the locals my money.

I would love to just go down there and fish. Anglers Choice has their championship on Orville this year so am going to try and make that.

Anglers Choice in this area sure fell off the radar. Did they ever get a new tourney director? Used to have some pretty fun tourneys across the state

I love fishing shasta, don't get me wrong. All I was saying is it is long way to go to prefish for or not even be able to prefish. I want to qualify for the Clear lake fishoff so you have to fish the Oregon south tournys that are held on California lakes. I don't mind, it would like them coming up here anf fishinf fern ridge.

I believe Anglers is fishing out of Washington. They just registered three tourneys in Oregon. They also have several in the upper river so may get a better Washington draw.
