U just wanted to publically thank Ken (KROY) for getting my set posts separated from the bases. It was not easy task as I've learned. There were alot of great ideas from other Ifisher and salty dogs (appreciated). The heat idea would have worked, but the posts include a plastic seat, so heating the base would have melted them. Anyway, with much work, Ken's machine shop guys managed to get them apart, and he paid the boys in beer. ya gotta love dudes who work for beer. Thanks Ken, once again you are proof that Ifishers and salty dogs are really good people! :applause:

GBS and KROY, and everyone else.... Going back to stuck things, I was working on my Boat motor this weekend and had a bugger of a time with a screw. All the other screws came out nice but this one was STUCK tighter than a ducks @$$ in a typhoon. I just so happen to have a talanted machinest for a neighbor. He was outside his shop so I mosey d over to the fence (kinda like Wilson in Tim Taylors backyard) asked Dale for help. He mentioned an old guy once told him to melt wax on a stuck screw head. Take a torch and melt up the wax again and let it seep into and around the screw and screw hole. He said it worked for him.... so, I tried it and SHAZAAM it worked! It pays to listen to the old folks. Anyways, I hope you guys can use this tidbit next time you get in the same position. We need to start a thread with these mechanical tips. "How to ............." :smash:
