Greetings bass fishermen (and women),
Got my first trip to Shasta coming up soon and one of the hot baits in all the reports are slider heads using several color of worms made by "Mothers Favorites".
MFs don't show up in any catalogs or stores I've seen, any one know of a fair substitute? Are they heavy like a Senko or soft and wiggly like a drop shot worm.
Thanks,
MrFish

Thanks, I'm getting closer! Soft hand made worms. But ifI wasn't going to pour 'm myself, what commercial brand would you guess is a soft worm.
Must admit, I use Senkos split-shotting, and zipper worms when I drop shot, but don't really know didley about most of the brands.
Suggestions???

Mr. Fish- The hot bait right now at Shasta is a 4" or 6" straight tail hand pour worm in greens and browns. Mother's Finest worms are available at Phil's Props in Redding. Stop by or give Tony a call and he'll hook you up.

Thanks Basscaster, and better luck next trip Hagen (I'v heard its been hot then cold this last month on Shasta).
Anyway Phil's Propellers was sure the right place. They have a web site with their extensive bass tackle and all the worm and grub colors for their Magic Worms, but if you ask them real polite, they reveal that those same colors come in the famous "Mothers Favorites" hand pour. Phil's got an order put together of 4 and 6 inch worms that willbe here by the weekend.
By the way, slipped the boat into the Willamette yesterday before the rains came and connected on handful of fish at the mouth of the Molalla. Nothing very big, all but one on a drop shot Zipper worm. Other on a 1/2 brown jig. Water clarity wasn't bad, but its muddier this morning. Temp about 46.
