I was looking through some old pics and remembered the following.

http://www.ifish.net/gallery/data/500/medium/1208fishing.jpg

This is Large Mouth bass I caught @ a private lake in Central Oregon. These guys would not touch anything I had in box - except big hoppers cast in the lily pads. As soon
as the fly hits the water, the bass took no more than 1/2 of a second to hit it. You have to love sight fishing. The bass were actually taking dragon flies off the surface, but they accepted my morsel.

I should have taken more pics, but who has time for pics when the fishing is soooo good. Oh ya, I almost forgot, me and a couple buddies caught about 60 of these that day.

I can't wait for Summer to return!!!

I love Bass on a fly rod. We use to catch them all the time in California. rp

Now that's a good way to cure anyone's Steelhead
blues. Find a nice little bass pond somewhere and
let it rip. Smallies are also a lot of fun on a
fly rod! That pic brings back some great memories
from my days as a kid in Virginia.

At this point in time I'd be happy to hook a bass on a fly. Anything to put a bend in my rod!

Also wooly buggers (solid black/solid white/or black
and yellow combination for the body with black saddle
hackle). Red/Pink/Black/White/and Black and Yellow
SS's do the job on the pan fish and bass. Had some fun
at Lacamas and Round lake! Was on the Washougal one
day and right after I pulled in a Steelhead my fishing
partner got a small mouth bass - on the same fly out
of the same area. That was cool!

Was actually a little jealous because he got a
bass and I didn't LOL. Eric W, thanks for starting
a good thread - there has to be some more bass
stories to add to this - lets hear some more.
