I'm sorry about the delay on sending out my address, but I have come down with the flu. I was looking back over the posts on the original thread and realized that we actually have 12 tiers (I overlooked justinC). If everyone that hasn't sent their flies out could tie up 11 flies I would really appreciate it. If you have already sent out your flies I'll work out something so that you can get everyone elses patterns.
Sorry about the mix-up,
Justin

That's pretty close to what I did. I was in a swap on another website and really liked the fly I tied for it. So I just kept on going. I still need to tie up a bunch for myself.

You only need to send in 11. That way you just get back everyone else's patterns and not your own.

How about an extra fly for the organizer?

Sent mine off today...
I dont really have name for the fly I tied but i hope it works... it might be a little too flashy, in which case you should catch some steelhead with it.

I finally found all the materials I needed and got the flys done. Since the Post Office is closed today I will probably deliver them myself before the 1st. Anyway, here's what I came up with, a cone-head, woven-bodied, polar-shrimp, pseudo-bugger. I couldn't find exactly the right color chenille so I combined lite pink and shell pink in a woven body to approximate the overall color I wanted with a segmented effect. Instead of palmering the body like a true woolly bugger, I went with a simple collar hackle and cone-head for a quicker sinking fly (wear your hard hats!). This fly is really close in size and color to the peach woolly bugger I've hooked numerous springers on.

As I indicated at the beginning of this swap I am going to submit some Teeny Nymphs. I did come up with another pattern but It's time to get these in. I think you guys are all going to like these. They are killers.
Jim has many patterns that for some reason aren't available in our area. Or at least I don't see them in the shop. When I visited his business today my eyes bugged out at all the flie variations he has.
I hope you enjoy. The flies are going in the mail tonight.
See you on the river.

Now that the Spring Fly Swap is almost over, it is time to think about catching a springer!
There have been early Springers reported in both the Clackamas and Sandy Rivers. Usually the Springer run doesn't peak in these rivers until May, but I will be swinging a fly through Chinook water when I am fishing for Steelhead in these rivers.
Who will be the first to post a photo of a fly caught Springer?

Where and when is the best time and place to use these flies. I use a spey rod, and am always looking for fellow fishing partners

When and where to fish for Springers will vary depending on the river and the water levels.
There have been reports of Springers already in the Kalama and Lewis Rivers.
They don't start arriving in any large numbers until late April and May in the Clackamas and Sandy Rivers (with favorable water levels).
When swinging a fly (whether using a single or double handed rod), you will need to wait for the Springers to work their way up the rivers to water where this method will be most effective.
