This week my Dad (Bill Neal) is going in for an AAA (Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm) surgery, same procedure as Jennie's. He is very strong and in great shape other than the AAA and being 80 years old. Please place him in your prayers. Thank you.

I sure will be praying for your Dad. As Jennie has showed us -its very serious stuff. But trusting in God to help us through is what He wants!

Received a call from my Mom, Dad made through surgery today in good order. The surgery was suppose to last 4-1/2 hours, it was completed in 3 hours and the surgeon said everything went better than expected. He said Dad woke up briefly towards the end of the surgery which spiked his heart rate due to pain, but he was quickly sedated and he doing well now in ICU. Thanks everyone for your positive thoughts and prayers, it is greatly appreciated and I know Jesus is doing his part also.

Will keep you all informed of his progress, it is looking very positive right now! Again, thank you!

Update - Dad continues to do well. He wants some real food, but that is not an option as of today (Mom mentioned the hospital does not want to take a chance of Dad vomiting, which would rip out the stitches. So right now he is getting all his nourishment and pain medication through an IV. Will give him a little humor when I talk with him about how good the hospital food is  Tomorrow they want him up and to walk around as much as possible to lessen the chances of a blood clot. Hopefully, if all goes well, he will be released to go home Saturday or Sunday.

Again, thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers, Fred

Hows your Mom holding up?

Just a short update. All is great news. Dad continues to improve, he tentatively will be coming home Tuesday. I'm sure he is looking forward to it. As far as help when he makes it home, I have a brother who will help him out in addition to family and friends. I would be down there with him, but he requested that I wait until he felt better so he could share the time better with me, so I will be visiting him in a few weeks.

Hows your Mom holding up?

Mom has pretty much taken this all in stride as she has a great support group of family and friends.

Again, thanks for all your support. :angel1: :applause:

One last quick thought and update. Thanks for everyones' prayers, talked with Dad last Saturday and all is going well. He is up and about and was proud of being able to put his regular clothes on. He said the only pain he was feeling was from the surgery itself, all pain that was there before the surgery is gone. He was very positive and looks forward to fishing and hunting in the future. Again, thank you! :applause:
