The Molalla has lots of bass in it. The pudding river too. Good luck. Sounds like a great float. Would like to try it myself sometime.

i've been thinking the same as a decent weeknight summer thing.
heard there was a boat launch on the mollala near town that's now closed, but it might still be doable as a slide. anyone know anything about that?
thanks!

There is a closed boat ramp at knights bridge. I drive by it everyday on my way to work and unless you like sliding through blackberries its not vey doable. But there is another ramp in a city park upriver.

thanks for the info.
i checked in an Oregon Gazetteer and it looks like the Knight's Bridge launch is the one that's marked. how far upriver is the city launch?
again, thanks for the help. i'm pretty pumped about a little weekday smallie float near portland...

The city park launch is not that far up river and I have gotten a few smallmouths in the lower river fishing at Knights Bridge and right at the mouth the knight’s bridge area has some good fly water. rp

Another place you might want to try is the Umpque. You can get a guide trip or take rubber rafts. It's great fun in the summer and tons of bass.
