Hey BW! Last time I looked, Carlton lake has been dried up and turned into farmland for many years. There used to be a huge lake there back in the old logging train days. There also used to be something like 5 different sawmills there, but all gone now. There might be a few small private ponds there now, but I`m sure you`ll have to ask permission to fish them. I live there in town and haven`t seen a lake there in 5 years at least. Bummer huh? It would be great to have a good Bass fishery right at our doorstep. You might try around the Newberg area if you have a boat, (kinda hard to bank it there). I have a friend with a small boat, and have done pretty good above and below Roger`s landing in the past. Unfortunately friend got into dirt biking and pretty much quit fishing. Good luck! Ff

Carlton Lake has been gone for many, many years. There was talk and preliminary plans to try and get it going again about 10 years ago. There were a few studies and it was determined not to be feasible. Dang it anyway :depressed:. Would love to have fishing that close to Yamhill . I don't know when it was removed, but I can remember seeing it when I was 12 years old. Also saw Meadow Lake up on the upper Nestucca on the same day. Loved those Sunday drives as a kid !!

Hey DipN! Don`t know anybody that has fished Meadow lake. Have you ever tried it? At least there is still water in there. Last time I saw it anyway. May not be by the end of this summer the way things are drying up. :hoboy: Would be interestig to talk to someone that has fished there! Ff

Actually Meadowlake is no longer there either. The dam washed out in the 60's. 1964 comes to mind, but not sure!! It is now just a meadow with a creek running through it!!

What no lake there either? I`ve driven by it quite a few times in the last couple yrs. Coulda sworn it was holding some water. I heard about the dam washing out but thought there was enough there to hold a little water back. The water table musta been high like early spring or somepin. Maybe I`ll just hafta find out where the "Donkey Pond" is exactly over near Dayton. Heard there are some mighty nice bass in there. Haven`t fished that have ya? Will let ya know when and if I ever get there. Ff
