A friend of mine is trying to get info on el salto lake. Does anyone have any info on who to call for reservations and a good guide? Thanks in advance-Brian

My son and I went in December on a 1 day trip I booked through ifishmexico.com at La Papalota camp. They put us on fish, but not the quality or quantity we'd hoped for. Our guide was adamant that we fish senkos (5" watermelon) and while they may have been be the hot bait on the lake, we got nothing over 4-5 lbs.I shouldn't make a judgement from a one day trip, but I think a better guide might have had some other options for a slow day. I threw some other baits with some success. Their lodge is a few miles from the lake and I might rather be on it. Ron Speed has a noticable presence on the lake and he had nicer boats, you might try him. Even while parts of the trip were disappointing I have to tell you I had a great time....80f in December, 30+ fish, mostly 3-4lbs, great food and being treated like royalty is usually about as good as it can get.
