Hey folks, I am taking a trip east to the Snake, planon going E. of Central Ferry for 2-3 days, launch a 14 ftr and have fun, how is the crappie fishing, catfishing in that stretch of the river? Any response is apreciated.

East of Central Ferry...below Lower Granite Dam or up the free flowing river above Clarkston? If you are below the dam the catfishing can be great...day or night. Crappie can be good at times but this late it is iffy. There are alway smallies to chase. It also can get to be really windy on this body of water...do be careful.
The free flowing area above Clarkston good catfishing, mostly a night thing. LOTS of smallmouth bass, and some good sturgeon fishing c&r only. Nice beaches to camp on but for good choice it is good to go during the week. Also, if you fish from the Idaho side from the bank will require an Idaho fishing license.Hope this helps a little.

Forgot to say if you bring your dog...ticks can also be a problem for them(you too)...get some of the tick stuff to put on it. An ounce of prevention is always good. Have fun and bring lots of sun block.
