STAN: are the "DC" number marked on each one of the timber tigers?

Dear John:
The lure itself doesn't carry a number. The box it comes in does. Look at the upper right hand corner of the front of the container it comes in. You'll see DC-8, DC-13, DC-16 etc.
They're dandy little crankbaits. They can be fished in some pretty heavy cover if you take it slow and easy. Crank it down into the cover, then ease up and give it slack when it bumps into something.
I especially like to throw it past cover, then crank it down and make it bump into the cover and deflect away if I can.
Also take a look at the information printed on the back of the box these lures come in. There's some solid information that will be of help to you.
All the best.

STAN: thank you. if i had a variety of them stored in my tackle box rather than in the factory containers, would i be able to ascertain from their appearance which ones would dive how deep? if not, it sounds like i would have to store each one in it's original box.

big john,
I take a new sharpie pen and right the depth my timber tiers are supposed to dive on the bottom of the bill. In time you will be able to look at the bill length and indentify how deep they will dive.
Timber Tigers are awsome plugs!!!! I have used them for a couple of years now. I am the first to admit that I have litle cofidence in cranbaits, I am more of a plastics fishermen. But I have had some good success on Timber Tigers. Now I guess I need some of these Talipia colored plugs to try.

REBELL: that's a great idea.
do you or STAN F or anyone else know: does the depth indication refer to the ultimate long-lining depth the plug would reach, given a certain line diameter and trolling speed, or does it refer to the typical depth to be expected when casting/retrieving?
