I was wondering if anyone has done any bass fishing in the Silicon Valley area and has any tips on specific waters there.

I'm going to be heading that way for a week (for work) starting next week. I'm also going to ship my float tube to the hotel so it'll be there waiting for me. There is going to be a LOT of down time and although I will be on call and have to stay close to SJ, I have already found (online) well over a dozen lakes that have bass.

Due to the recent weather conditions there, it will definitely be early spring conditions. Since I am still fairly new to bassing, ANY advise for those conditions is more than welcome.

I'll also be taking my camera and will be sure to post any successes I may have. :smash: :smash: :smash:

the sacramento delta is one of the best stripper fisheries around, and there is a very good population of bass in the delta also but this is boat country. the bay area is like a different planet when it comes to fishing. people, people everywhere people. good luck

There is quite a bit of bank access you'll just have to drive around. Marina's are a good place to start as there is always a good population of fish in these areas. Lots of cover...lots of bait....many preditors.

There's a book called "Fishing in Northern California" that might help.

My first choice would definitely be the delta. I checked the reports and they are picking up a ton of stripers right now.

Unfortunately, we have a one hour response policy to the nitrogen plant I'll be babysitting there. I can't get that far away.
