It's amazing I was just about to post an inquiry asking if anybody had heard of a monster bass caught in San Diego county. There;s no doubt in my mind that the next world record will come from that county. I spent three winters and springs down there as a snowbird and in april on teen sized bass were common. All the lakes down there are privately owned impoundments and well stocked with 10" and bigger trout. Large bass just seem to open there mouths and inhale dinner. are any of you aware of the record bass club? If not check it out at recordbass.com. For an annual entry fee o about $20.00 they will put you in a pool offering prize money for the largest bass caught in a state this year $1,000, new state record $10,000 and for a new world record bass at least 22lbs. 6oz.

EIGHT MILLION DOLLARS!! I kid you not, go to the web site and see for yourself. Hawg fishing in SDC is big business and thousands of dollars can rest on keeping a fish from regurtitating (puking) up big trout after youve netted them or releasing eggs as was the case in this last monster. TIGHT LINES.

That's the blackest (is that a word?) bass I've ever seen...perhaps that's why it's called black bass?
Ten or fifteen years ago, it was Florida that was supposed to produce the record bass. But it's become rather clear that the momentum has definitely shiften to S. California, especially the San Diego lakes. So many have come so close. My feeling is that every time someone pulls in one of these near-record monsters, it's another setback for breaking the mark.

Trout are 100% digestable when they become the dinner of a large bass. no fins/scales/bones to S#!T out. I have seen trout releases at some of the lakes, they do it in the spring a week or two prior to the lake opening, The trout come in a tank truck and a seditive is added to the water to calm the trout for transport, so when they arrive they are a little groggy. I swear the truck driving down the road is like ringing the dinner bell. When the trout start traveling around in little schools near the ramp you well see a swirl the size of a car top and one out of the school well be missing. Its the neatest thing you ever well wittness....DJ
