Wed. morning I'm headed to the group of lakes near ashland. Thanks to "Hagen"'s post a while back I'm tempted to fish Hyatt for bass. I did well on Emigrant in early april for crappie and perch. And my freezer needs more! Has anyone been to these lakes lately. I've heard Howard prairie and Lake of the woods are great too. Basically, I'm going fishing but if one lake is better than the other I'd like to hear about it! Thanks

Lake of the Woods has lots of kokanee and some nice brown trout. The bass numbers are down but there are still some in the lake. Try the west side of the lake around the downed trees and docks for the bass. Lots of yellow perch in the lake too.

Howard Prairie doesn't have any smallmouth bass  in it and I wouldn't fish the rockey area around the lodge or the points that dropoff into the old creek channel for them.
