I was told to post up an introduction here on the bass/panfish forum because I love to bass fish. I just joined this great site and look forward to checking out all of the info/pics. I have already enjoyed snooping around and checking out all of the posts. I live in the lower willamette valley and have been chasing bass my entire life. Here is one that I caught up with about 2 years ago, my biggest to date:

Here is another pretty nice one:

I caught and released both of them in a group of quarry ponds that are right next to the Willamette River as seen in the second picture. Now I am not a proponent of "as seen on TV" products but one that I wholeheartedly endorse is the old "banjo minnow" I caught both of these bass on it and it is my favorite thing to use in these ponds because of the incredible amount of weeds. They are all but unfishable with anything that is not weedless, and texas style worms are not real effective because open water pockets are only open water for about a foot down and then it is more weeds. The only other thing that is semi-effective is the "rat". So banjo's get a thumbs up from me in that application. When I do venture out from those ponds I go back to the more conventional lures for bass, but the banjo is never out of reach. Crappie are a lot of fun too but I don't get out for them too often as I do not have a big boat, only a layout boat w/ an electric motor that I use for duck hunting. I look forward to sharing info and checking out everyone's catch!
