One important thing about Silver in early spring is Silver has LOTS of very Shallow Water (2-12 inches) back in the celery. Silver has hundreds of acres like this (all over the lake). This area does not hold many fish but one thing that any one that fishes silver in the spring should know is that water moves!!!!! When the sun comes out it super heats this water, then when a light wind comes up some times it blows the hot water (50-65 deg. water) in to canals that have been cut in to the shallow areas. The canals can be over 8 feet deep. And the bass are good at finding this pattern!!!! So in the afternoon of a nice and warm spring day I look at the wind direction and think about what canals would be helped by this wind. The Canal does not have to be very big or very deep. The best cover at this time is wood and/or Brush. This pattern is best if you get a few sunny days in a row so you get more bass moving in the canals. You will see the locations of the best spring time canals on my silver lake map that I have sent most of you. Lots of times the bass will suspend just under the water right at the edge of the brush, so they can be a bit jumpy. So move slow and pitch to wood or pockets & points in the brush. If you have any questions just send me a message!
Thanks Roger  :smash:

Hey Roger that's great info.. there are lots of times where wind though we hate it can really make things happen.

I know up in the gorge when the bright sun sends the smallies to the depths a strong wind blown back can still hold shallow fish they will respond to reaction baits...

Also, I'd love to have a copy of your map if you'd be so kind
