View Full Version : Hell on Earth...

I believe that "hell" is being seperated from the presence of God. Not being able to talk with him, see him, and love him. It would kill me never to be in his presence. I've searched high and low for him. I've looked at all the religions in the world trying to figure out what remnants God has left for us to know he exists. From all my studies I'm convinced the Bible is God's key for us. He "is" there!
However, as long as I'm on this planet, I feel like this is hell. God has left us many revelations through nature, the universe, and his word. But he is "not" here sitting next to us. He's not living on Earth and he's not someone I can could even describe to you. It is pure hell to me to live on a planet where everyone seeks for God but none of us have ever met him face to face. It is hell to me that the best way for God to reach me is through these broken vessels we call men. This is "Hell on Earth". I am seperated from him and I can't stand it....
My first words in Death will be, man that was hell. Thank you for pulling me out of it... :-)

I have met God I may not have looked him eye to eye but I believe he walks with me and I talk with him Day to day. Yes sometimes it feels God leaves us to make mistakes and discover things on our own. but truly down deep I know he is right there and will help all I have to do is ask. He is my best friend I can tell him anything and he has given me something that I could not do on my own. Through the gift of his son I know some day I will look at him face to face but until that day I know he is right here with me every day. So please do not feel God has left us alone on this earth cause trust me he is here. I like to revert to one of my old favorite hymns on this one.
In the Garden by C. Aus*tin Miles,
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
Hope this gives some insight into the way feel about God just abandoning us here to live our lifes.
One things I always remember this is not my home and someday God will come and bring me home. So for now I remain homeless and waiting. rp

I agree RP. The "Hell" we experience may be tough and somewhat undesirable; but, although we cannot see, we can believe. Although we cannot feel with our fingers, we can feel with our hearts.
It's not quite Heaven, I know that much.

FAITH. This planet is far from hell. I am enjoying my time here and the family he has given me to nurture and love. I enjoy my friends and people that I meet and the positive aspects of life. There are "hell" situations in life for sure and situations that are not fair or to our liking but we my friend are far far far from hell itself.
Some people have their demons that they must deal with in life but they pale in comparrision to the eternal death that awaits us in hell if we have not accepted Christ.
God loves us unconditionally but if we want to see God and Live with him forever in heaven then we have to accept him into our hearts and minds. Salvation, what a glorious gift our Father has given us. All we have to do is accept it. Of course you then have to commit yourself to live as God has directed without sin. The great thing is that if we do faulter God will forgive us again. WE only need ask for his mercy and anointing.
Ryan posted some great stuff up yonder in this post. :applause: Keep the faith and I would suggest perhaps talking with your clergyman/woman regarding how you feel about this. Perhaps they will recommend some reading and direction for you here.
Peace

I sence that you must be going thru some sort of strugle in your life right about now. For you to say that God is not here living among us is totally worng. For if God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirt are one according to the word. Than when Jesus accended into heaven he sent a comforter to take his place untill his returning. John14:16, John15:26, and John16:7 say so. Maybe your seperated with him (the holy sprit) and your spirt sences it. no one knows what he looks like, but Jesus said "if you've seen me, you've seen the father" for the father and I are 1. Jesus is written about all thru the Bible both old and new testiment.
Hell is a permanant seperation from Gods presents, no doubt about it. Luke 16:19-29 is the story of Lazrus and the rich man. it discribes just a little of what hell will be like. Not a happy place to be.
To be a broken vessal is the perfect place to be. for its when your broken that God can restore you to the vessal he wants you to be. He will mold you, shape you and make you so heavenly perfect that you'll be no earthly good. Isn't that where we as christians would like to be. The word tells us to be heavenly minded and set ourselfs apart from this world, but its nearly impossible to be in the world and not to pick up a little muck and myer on ourselfs as we go thru this life. Thats why we have the COMFORTER that Jesus has sent.
Don't look for the world to show you the way to heaven, the world has so many way to find God, but their is only one true way, that lead to salvation and thats Jesus. " It is better to follow the 8 into the ark, than the 8 millions that drowned in the flood and ended up in hell".
I will pray that your seperation will end and that the holly sprit will fill you with peace. A peace not of this world but a peace that will surpass ALL understanding.

That is a good point. And it is also how Jesus chooses to describe his mission in Luke and in Matthew. He roles out the scroll of Isiah and reads from it and says "This is why I have come...to heal the brokenhearted and set the captives free..." That is how Jesus described his mission. And we are all in some way the broken hearted and we are held captive by the world around us. But Jesus came to offer us freedom and life.
Here is an interesting question. When describing his mission why didn't Jesus just say "I have come to die on the cross for your sins so that you may go to heaven?"
I mean that is why he came and thank God for that...but he also came to heal our broken hearts, set the captives free, and offer us freedom and life...that is why Christianity is such stunning news. It is about restoration and getting back that life the way God intended it before satan put his spin on things.
As far as hell on earth....that is the world we live in. We live in a world at war. Look at Revelation 12 and the real Christmas story (behind the scenes). Look at what is going on in the spiritual realm. Satan (the dragon) is hurled to the earth along with thousands of his followers and they are here to make war against Gods most intimate creation...his image bearers.
Satan knows he is going to lose in the end, but he also knows that he can hurt the heart of God by leading his creation astray.
So we are caught in a story that is so much larger than ourselves. We are in a battle over our hearts. And the key to winning the battle is acting Faith in what has been revealed to us through scripture.

Probably my biggest stumbling block is that we all sin. Yet were supposed to "try" and live a "sinless" life. We know that it is impossible to be perfect. Even the best of us do or say something we shouldn't. Everyday I'm aware of what's inside me and the rest of the world... While I believe God has revealed himself to us through the Bible I'm still at odds with why their are commands to live a sinless life when that is flat out impossible.
I have people telling me not to do certain things when 20 years before they've done the same things as well. I know it's always out of love but it sure seems contradictory?
I also know that sometimes we can't change a person so we stop trying to help them. Thus it becomes a situational scenario where we won't talk to certain people, but other people we will. A good scenario is that most of us won't talk to a family member or close friend who we've known for years. Yet, the new person comes along and we let loose on them.
I guess I'm at a point where I believe in God and truly believe I'm saved. But I'm still trying to work through how to follow a command that is completely and utterly impossible. Sin is a part of me as long as I'm on this planet. It can't be removed. That's why I say this is pure hell... :-)
I don't like myself because of Sin. I don't trust anyone else because of Sin. Only one person can do that for me and that's Christ, but the actual cleansing and salvation won't occur until I'm dead.... This place sucks. :-)

Jesus died for us because He knew it was impossible for us to live and not sin. When you have realized that, you can let go and let Him lead you, and when you fall He'll help you up. His Grace is sufficient for all of us and His love and His presence in our lives is real. Listen to Jesus, He will tell you what is right and wrong, men make up their own religious rules as they go. Jesus came to set us free from the bondage of religion and men want to bind us up again. I am FREE in CHRIST and HE Walks with Me and I with Him. I'm praying for you brother !!!

you make a couple pionts here. 1.Sin is a stumbling block and 2. No one can ever live a perfect and sinless life. We'er not God.
In Romans Ch3 Paul speaks on justification, Is the Jew any better than the Gential? aboslutly not. Both are in the bonds of sin. Even with the Jews being Gods choosen People, all are under the bondage of sin.
Rom 3:10 there is none righteous, not even one,
V11 There is none who understands, there is none who seeks God.
V12 All have turned aside, together they have become useless; there is none who does good, there is not even ONE.
Rom 3:23 For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
Jesus didn’t come to replace the law; Jesus came to fulfill the law. The law reveals the sin; Jesus came to forgive the sin.
"SIN ISN'T BAD BECAUSE IT'S FORBIDDEN, SIN IS FORBIDDEN BECAUSE IT'S BAD".
God knows that we strugle with sin every day in our lives thats why he tells us to seek him daily, and to pray without ceasing asking for forgiveness and to repent for our transgresions. For he is sure to forgive.
Colossians3 tells us what we are to do with our lives when we became NEW creatures in Christ. We ARE to put off the things of this world. The things being the old dirty ways we used to act, to say, to think. these are the ways of the old man before we know christ. After accepting christ we become a NEW man putting to death the OLD and we are to put on Heavenly garments: patience, kindness, forgivness, humility and all these are to be fastened together with LOVE.
Even hypocrites have some sense of morals. they know whats right and whats wrong. When some one is telling you not to do something, just maybe they've been their before and it messed them up and don't want you to go their now.
NEVER expect to change anyone thats not your place, as christians we are to seek God thru Jesus and let the Holy sprit take care of the rest.
Pslams 139 tells us that we are fearfully and wonderfuly created, that we where not hid from him(GOD)being made in secret being made UNPERFECT. The cleansing and salvation ARE for now, all that is need is to believe and ask for it. the latter holds judgement, a time to give an account for our deeds. a time that is to late to aks for forgiveness.
Peace to you brother.

Excellent, excellent, excellent!!! What I needed most were those comforting words that others could relate to how I feel. I can agree that "no" this is not hell now. These last couple posts have really helped me see why I've fealt so much angst as of late. I will change my outlook from "Man I can't wait to get out of this place" to "Patience and endure, the best is yet to come". Nice input folks I honestly didn't see this one turning out the way it did. :-)

Great change of sprit. I’m glad things are looking up for you yooper. I like to share one more illustration with you and i'm sure you've heard it before.
It’s the story of the three Hebrew children king Nebi tossed into a fire, a fire heated seven times hotter than normal. After being in the fire for awhile Nebi looked into the oven to check on the progress of their demise and noticed something was amiss. Their were not three in the fire, but four. The word says that their bonds were loosened and they where dancing in the fire. In amazement he turned to his guards and asks,” Was in not three that where tossed into the fire. And how is it that one has the appearance of god?”
I’d like to suggest to you that it’s when you’re in the fire that God meets you. Running from the fire (trials/troubles) may lead itself to a longer separation from god, his mercies, his answere to your prayer, and having not learned a thing.
Stay in the fire and seek the lord, your protected from harm, your days will be lengthend, and you’ll dance longer when it’s over. Peace Bro.
