Hi all,
Been lurking for a while and finally decided to join as this board appears to have a great group of people. I use to flyfish for trout as a kid in Eastern Oregon but quit when I moved to the coast. Last year (13 years later) my best friend, who is now in Iraq took me Smallmouth fishing on the Umpqua near Elkton. I caught at least 60 fish and became totally enamoured with both the Umpqua and Smallmouth Bass! I enjoy other forms/types of fishing but those are mainly time killers until spring (don't tell the other board ;-) I am looking forward to learning from you all and hope to contribute when I can. Thanks, and if you ever hear of a guy fishing underwater (scuba) with a pole, come on over and say hi.

Welcome aboard! Bass fishing is great is'nt it?

Last time I fished the Umpqua I caught alot of smallies. Years ago, used to float from about 5 miles above Elkton back down to town. Lots of fun.

Hope you enjoy this fishing forum, you'll learn a great deal.

WELCOME TO IFISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :applause: :applause:
If you have not found out about the lure called "Senko" or Senko type lures. You should try them out. Most people fish the lures with no wt. Seeing that you like to fish for small mouth bass, you may also like to try the 3" senko "drop shot". If you ever have any questions WE are all happy to help you out. Again WELCOME!!!
Also tell us about your best fishing story. Thanks

Welcome aboard. There are a lot of great guys out there who love to talk about fish.

Swings are free, and they don't count until you get them into the boat.
