Merc 2strk 25hp charging system?

Is there a way to hookup a charging system to a Merc 25hp 2 stroke engine? Year model is 2000. I'd like to be able to charge batteries while I'm running is this possible? I haven't contacted a dealer yet, but I thought the collective genius here at Ifish might have some preliminary insight.

You can go to mercurypartsexpress.com (http://www.mercurypartsexpress.com/PartsExpress/HomePage/homepage.asp) and look for a alternator kit to update your motor. I have an older 25M and I know they make one for it, but I really don't need one. Seems like it would be fairly simple.
