Anybody out there with any hours of time on the Bombardier Evinrude E Tec two stroke outboards 150-175hp on a sled ? If so, how has it performed for you ?

I called Evinrude this past Monday and asked when the 150-175hp would be out. They said not until Fall 2005 to Spring 2005. Right now they have available, under 90hp and greater than 200hp.
I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has experience with the 200hp E-Tec.

My 225 E-TECs will be here about March 10. I talked with my counterpart in Fort Lauderdale the other day. He's recently put twin 250's on one of his boats and loves them. Good power curve, fuel consumption, and lower sound levels than the 4-strokes he's got on a sister ship. So far so good.

Neat. I thought the 150-175's had come out already. Not that I am in any hurry to re-power if I dont have to quite yet. Thanks for the info.

pksgundogs:
Just had a boat show conversation with some of the Evinrude reps last week on this issue. The Miami boat show is next month (opens the 18th I think) and there may be an announcement on these engines at that time. Bombardier is being very careful with this line. They know they have a big history issue to overcome and they are only releasing the engines when they are confident there will be no significant warrantee work to overcome. I'm watching for the Evinrude reputation to make a strong comeback based on this approach.
