Does anyone have those stabilizer fins on their outboards? You know the ones that bolt to the cavitation plate and help plane out the boat. Just curious if anyone has a positive or negative on them?

thanks in advance

I had a Stindgray brand that I installed on a prior boat. Solved a bow lift problem. Worked great. Would do it again.

I put one on a 15 Merc kicker motor for use on my drift boat. It worked very well on the kicker, drift boats are not really designed very well for motors. It looked funny when I put it back on the big boat.

They work, but are sort of like a fix-it for an underpowered boat.

I ran an open 21 foot Asaltor in Alaska that only had a 70 hp on it. I typically had myself and 4 customers, and a load of halibut/kings on the way in. The fin helped tremendously getting the boat up on plane. Before I added it, sometimes it was hard to get on plane even moving all the people and fish up front.

So, yes, they do work, and don't detract from my experience.
