Nothing about the sleds. Have a friend with a mid 90's DB that is pretty nice. Has the synthetic bottom on it. Do yo live right on the river and own a Willie? Name Brown ?

I had a 20ft Fishrite sled for a number of years (wish I had kept it now). It was a great boat. I have also had a couple of their drifters, all in all they are a great boat. If I was going to buy a new boat today, it would be another Fishrite.
The quality is top notch, and the people at Fishrite are great to deal with. You will not be dissapointed!

I had a 17' 52" Fish-Rite drift boat that I was very happy with. Fish-Rite used to be located in Medford I think they still are and I always thought they made a nice boat.

I bought a used 1998 17ft fishrite Performer (16 degree modified v hull) in October. I am very happy with it. I looked for over a year to find a used one.
Last fall, I fished out of a 21ft Explorer, which is the V8/sled model.that is owned by a friend of mine's father. Wow, it was nice. He has good luck with it. We were fishing on the Rogue there at the mouth. He would launch it up river a few miles. It was really a blast to go back up river at the end of the day.

I have 20' mid ninties explorer mdl and am happy with it, My son had 18'er for years and was also pleased. Last summer in Alaska at seward, I saw more fish-rites than any other single brands. The boat is bullet proof. All welds are clean and sound. I would not worry about the quality of workmanship.
On both boats I mention the zolotone clear coat hasn't held up well, I flakes off in small sheets, neither boat was garaged. I figure by the end of next summer it will be gone and have a consistant look. Roger

I have a 2001 18' Fishrite sled and I love it. It's a well built boat and the company (in Medford) is good to deal with.

The one thing I have noticed about FishRite is that they will still build you a truly 'custom' boat. You name the degree vee in any model and they will provide it for you. Same thing with interior designs and options. At this point I believe they have the nicest welds in the business, too.
A couple of our other 'largest suppliers' of tin boats have had it so good for the last decade or so, they are more concerned about mass production of spec models.....and they can about name their price.

I had a really old one before it was replaced...An '83.
Built like a tank....
Was gonna order a new one to replace it, but went to a NR because of the beam choice I wanted.
Was dis-appointed to see Fish Rite going to a 3/16 bottom thickness...but you may be able to option it with 1/4.
Great boats, however.

I run a 18' Fishrite flattie that we call the landing craft. Solid boat, I'd buy another, but I don't need to.....Unless the wind blows, then you need a kidney belt, but, hey......It's a flattie!!

They built me a 18x60 drift boat in the early 1980's and it was the best rowing boat I have ever had.
Lynn Self told me he likes his 27' for the lower Columbia except for a paint issue.
Fish Rite makes a great boat. And as previously stated, they will customize your boat for you. Why spend all that money if you can't get it just the way you want it?
Jammie will work hard to make you the boat you want.

I wanted them to build me a boat with an 84 bottom, but they wouldn't do it...
They lost a sale over that one...

I've got a 2001 19' Explorer. Bought this one used in 2002. The boat is built like a rock, but there are some things I'd change if I were going to have one made. Send me a PM with your phone number and we can talk.
-LOL
I guess I was referring to customizing your boat after you pick the hull you want. My buddy had one customized with some cool stuff.
That being said, they do make a 23' Explorer with a 7 foot bottom that they have made forever. That is the same hull as the open Rivermaster. Not sure what hull you were after, but they do have a 7' bottom boat.
