I have no idea what kind of boat you own or the kind of fishing you like to do. But one thing is for sure. No matter the kind of boat (drift boat, sled, glass runabout, whatever) you are fortunate to live here in God's country.

Someone once said that when you live in the Pacific Northwest you can do something different in the outdoors each and every day for more than a year without repeating yourself. The same thing is true for using your boat.

My sled never sleeps, no matter what time of year it is. Starting now, for instance, it is used for winter steelhead and crabbing, then it will be used for SPRINGERS( :smash:), kokanee, then summer steelhead and summer chinook, then fall chinook/coho, then crabbing and winter steelhead again. And each of these critters can be pursued throughout their range, in deep big rivers and low water small rivers, in lakes of all kinds, etc.

I have no idea how to winterize a boat. Never have done it. Never will.

Thumper said it well... We are fortunate to live in an area that has year round fishing opportunities . Your boat can get you into all sorts of year round activities, particularly so if you are willing to travel around Oregon, WA, and Idaho. No need to winterize. Never done that either... Good Luck

Quite a few boats in the Willamette around Oregon City today ...

There is no off-season. As the owner of a "classic" boat, I always have one repair or another for the winter months.

first year of being married, my new bride came home one day with advice from the local fish "guru" at her place of work:..She said: "Mike so and so says we should be winterizing our boat"..I replied, well we live in Puget Sound region and we do not have to winterize the boat...she thought for awhile, sheer look of terror and insight setting in..and concluded: "oh my god, fishing season never comes to an end"....
Ha!
