New to ifish, but have a 20' NR Trapper w/ Kodiak. Have ordered several parts from KEM(do it yourselfer) and have had promt and knowledgable service. They even will give you information on upgrades. Don't remember who I spoke w/, just the parts and service departments

I have nothing but good to say about KEM. I bought a used Kodiak 5.7L TBI engine from an ebay seller, and KEM gave me alot of good and free information. They have been very good at helping me troubleshoot a few fuel issues (fuel pump related) even though they had very little to gain by helping me.
top rated in my book!
They have helped me out with several questions in the past.

Bill,
Are you getting a larger engine? Or diesel engine? Whats the reason for your engine overhaul?

It seems the original 5 litre lost a piston due to a faulty knock sensor. The original block would be a good long block for a smaller boat and not a tunaholic. It does have some salt exposure but only 288 hours. I went with a 5.7 due to long fishing runs and less engine work. The 5.0 ran great, smooth and reliable while she ran. The original 5.0 ran good till I noticed a problem and shut her down, then got home on the honda. Shes not beat up and very rebuildable.
PM me if interested.
